The RECREATE project was co-financed with European funds through the Italy-Slovenia program for a total value of €595,740.70 (of which €70,035.70 for the Municipality of Spinea) and sees the cross-border collaboration of 6 public partners and private:

  • Northern Adriatic Technological Pole Andrea Galvani Scpa,
  • Gees Recycling Srl,
  • OBRTNO PODJETNIŠKA ZBORNICA SLOVENIJE,
  • TECHNOL,
  • MUNICIPALITY OF SPINEA,
  • Regional Economic Union of Slovenia (URES).

Thanks to the RECREATE project and the collaboration with Gees Recycling, the most common plastic composite products that Spinea residents will be able to deliver have been identified, such as: skis, skateboards, snowboards, rackets, car trunks, canoes and many others.

The Municipality of Spinea will activate this first experimental collection of composite plastic waste in collaboration with VERITAS SpA, involving citizens in this important initiative to promote increasingly sustainable and innovative waste management and reduce the community’s environmental impact. The collection is managed by VERITAS with some dedicated ecocentres, between the end of April and the beginning of May 2024.

The fiber-reinforced plastic waste collected will then be recycled by Gees Recycling for the production of public furniture for the City of Spinea itself.
