Renewable energy that respects the environment

Aviano, May 17, 2024
The foundation of the Gees Recycling project represents a significant shift toward a more sustainable future.

In 2023, the facility recovered, processed, and gave new life to 1,000 tons of plastic waste—material that would otherwise have ended up in landfills—thereby significantly reducing CO2 emissions.

For 2024, the facility’s new objective is to enhance the sustainability of its production activities by utilizing renewable energy sources. This is being achieved through the installation of a 176 kWp photovoltaic system, 50% of which is funded by a non-repayable grant for SMEs provided by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. The grant is part of the 2021–2027 Operational Program, co-financed by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund)—specifically under the objective RSO 2.1, “Promoting energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions,” and Action b2.1, “Support for the use of renewable energy in businesses.”
